| Abstract: Dental and skeletal asymmetries are commonly observed during growth and may affect both facial development and occlusal relationships. Early recognition is important for determining whether interceptive treatment or observation is appropriate. This lecture will review common causes of asymmetry in growing patients, including functional shifts, unilateral crossbite, and developing skeletal discrepancies. Diagnostic approaches based on facial evaluation, clinical examination, and radiographic analysis will be discussed, along with practical treatment considerations. Clinical scenarios will illustrate how early recognition and appropriate intervention can guide more favorable growth and long-term outcomes. |
