Prof. Kitae Park

BIOGRAPHY

Prof. Kitae Park is Professor at the Institute of Oral Health Science, Samsung Medical Center, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine, Seoul, Korea. He received his DDS degree from Yonsei University in 1985 and completed specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry, earning an MS degree from New York University in 1991. He obtained his PhD in Pediatric Dentistry from Yonsei University in 1997 and later completed advanced training in Orthodontics at Northwestern University, Chicago, receiving both a Certificate and an MS degree in 1999.

Prof. Park’s clinical and academic work spans pediatric dentistry and orthodontics, with a particular focus on early orthodontic diagnosis and intervention. He has published more than 25 peer-reviewed scientific articles in international and national journals and has delivered invited lectures at numerous academic meetings worldwide. He has also contributed chapters to multiple textbooks.

He is the author of the widely used Korean textbook Practical Approaches in Early Orthodontic Treatment (published in 2009, 2016, and 2021) and the English textbook

Early Orthodontic Foundations: Essential Strategies (2024), which emphasizes evidence-based and practical approaches to early orthodontic care.

Prof. Park has held key leadership roles in international scientific meetings, including Chair of the Scientific Program Committee for the IAPD 2013 Seoul Congress and Chair of the Organizing Committee for the PDAA 2022 Seoul Congress. He currently serves as President of the Pediatric Dentistry Association of Asia (PDAA), promoting academic collaboration and advancement in pediatric dental care across the Asia-Pacific region.
