Miguel Hernández Juyol, MD, PhD, is Full Professor in the Department of Dentistry at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Barcelona, a position he has held since 2003. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine (1980), Specialist degree in Stomatology (1984), and Doctorate in Medicine and Surgery (2001) from the University of Barcelona and completed postgraduate training in dentistry for special needs patients and comprehensive dental care for children at high biological risk. His academic and professional activity focuses on paediatric dentistry, special care dentistry, and child oral health. Professor Hernández has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, 13 book chapters, and three textbooks in paediatric dentistry and dental emergency care and is an active national and international lecturer. He has held multiple leadership roles within professional societies, including President of the Spanish Association of Paediatric Dentistry, and has served on committees of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry and the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry.
