Anna-Maria Vierrou was born in Athens Greece. She obtained her DMD from the Dental School of Athens University and the Certificate in Paediatric Dentistry from the University of Connecticut Health Center, USA. She holds a PhD from the University of Athens. She also holds the National Board Dental Examination of the American Dental Association Part I and II and the American Boards of Pediatric Dentistry Part I.
She recently became Fellow of the American College of Dentists.
Dr Vierrou is currently Secretary General of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD). In IAPD she held the positions of Representative of the Nations (2011-2015), President Elect (2015-2017), President (2017-2019), Past-President (2019-2021), Chair of: Membership Committee(2011-2013), IT Committee (2013-2015), Awards Committee (2015-2017), member of the CSS&C committee(2009- today).
Dr Vierrou served in the Board of the Hellenic Society of Paediatric Dentistry (HSPD) holding the positions of Treasurer (1997-2003), Secretary General (2003-2009), Vice President (2009-2012), President (2012-2015) and Past President (2015-2017).
She signed the inauguration act of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (EAPD) in 1990, in Boston, USA and in EAPD she has been appointed in the following positions: Councilor for Greece (2000-2004), Member of Credentials Committee (2004-2006) and Clinical affairs Committee (2006- 2012). She was Moderator in the 2009 workshop for the MIH guidelines and participated in the workshops for the guidelines on Sedation, Fluoride, Space Management and Interception of Malocclusion in the developing dentition.
Dr Vierrou was clinical instructor in the Department of Paediatric Dentistry of the University of Athens for ten years. She is the author of several scientific articles published in Greek and international journals and has participated as invited speaker, moderator and chair in numerous national and international congresses.
She runs a private practice limited to Paediatric Dentistry in Athens.
