Falk Schwendicke

Prof. Falk Schwendicke has his research focus in cariology and restorative dentistry, preventive and public health dentistry, dental diagnostics and predictive modeling (including application of AI-technologies) as well as health economics and health services research. He has authored over 300 articles, with a cumulative impact factor of >1300, and over 7000 citations over the last 5 years (H-Factor 34). He edited various books and provided over 20 book chapters on a range of issues, from caries management to health economics. Falk was awarded a range of prestigious awards, among them the Basil Bibby and Lion Award of the IADR, numerous awards of the German Society of Conservative Dentistry as well as the David Sackett Awarde of the German Network for Evidence-based Medicine. He reviews for over 40 peer-reviewed journals, among them the Lancet, as well as various national funding agencies. He serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Dental Research and has been on the editorial board of various dental journal before. He was invited speaker at a range of conferences, and provided over 100 scientific lectures as well as over 100 post-educational presentations over the last years. His curricular teaching focuses on cariology, preventive dentistry, diagnostics and decision-making. Falk currently leads the section of Health Services Research, Digital Diagnostics and Health Economics at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Europe‘s biggest hospital and one of the most successful dental institutes of the world.
