Professor Nigel Pitts- Professor Nigel Pitts has been Director of the Dental Innovation and Translation Centre at King’s College London since 2013; prior to that he was Dean of Dentistry at the University of Dundee, UK and held academic appointments at the University of Hong Kong. Alongside his work at King’s, he is co-founder and Global Chair of the Alliance for Cavity-Free Future (ACFF) and co-founder of the ICDAS Foundation (International Caries Detection and Assessment System). He has been instrumental in implementing ICDAS and promoting ICCMS™ across the world in the domains of education, research, practice and public health through the Global Collaboratory for Caries Management (GCCM). In 2018 he is helping to launch a new Dental Practice focussed arm of ICDAS, called CariesCare International, as well as another new initiative, the Erosive Tooth Wear Foundation. Nigel is an Honorary Consultant in Dental Public Health to Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and a Past President of the European Organisation for Caries Research (ORCA) and the European Association for Dental Public Health (EADPH). He has been awarded a range of International prizes from bodies such as the FDI, IADR and ORCA.
