Anna-Maria Vierrou

Organizing Committee Chair & IAPD Past President

Anna-Maria Vierrou was born in Athens Greece. She received her DDS from the Athens University School of Dentistry and the Certificate in Paediatric Dentistry from the University of Connecticut Health Center, USA. While in the USA, she obtained the National Board Dental Examination of ADA Part I and II and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry Part I. She holds a PhD from the University of Athens.
Dr. Vierrou has served as clinical instructor in the Department of Paediatric Dentistry of the University of Athens for ten years.
She has been in the Board of the IAPD since 2011, holding the positions of Representative of the Nations (2011-2015), Chair of Membership Committee(2011-2013), Chair of the IT Committee (2013-2015), Chair of the Awards Committee (2015-2017), President Elect (2015-2017), member of the Congress Site Selection and Coordination Committee (2011- today).
She is Past President of the Hellenic Society of Paediatric Dentistry (HSPD) where she has served for several years holding the positions of of Treasurer(1997-2003), Secretary General (2003-2009) and Vice President (2009-2012). She was the Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the 23rd IAPD Congress, Athens 2011.
Dr Vierrou was one of the founding members of EAPD. In the EAPD she held the positions of Councilor for Greece (2000-2004), Member of the Credentials Committee (2004-2000) and Member of the Clinical affairs Committee (2006- today). She was the moderator of the 2009 EAPD workshop concerning the MIH guidelines and she participated in the workshops for the guidelines on the topics of sedation and fluorides.
She is the author of several scientific articles published in Greek and international journals and has participated as a speaker in national and international congresses. She runs a private practice limited to Paediatric Dentistry in Athens.
