To Submit your Abstract


Deadline for Submission: 15 June, 2020

We are accepting abstracts for POSTER PRESENTATIONS.

In addition, young researchers travelling to the IAPD Global Summit from Developing Countries (as defined by the World Bank) are invited to submit their poster presentation to be in line for the prestigious Japanese Society of Pediatric Dentistry Travel Award. Please see the list of developing countries here

If you fit the criteria and wish to apply for the JSPD award, please follow these two steps:

  1. Submit your abstract online (instructions are below)
  2. When you have completed step one, send the application form  to the IAPD Secretariat at iapd@iapdworld.org.

Attention to all applicants:
The accepted abstracts will be for Poster Presentation.
All abstracts will be forwarded for peer review to the Scientific Review Committee.
It is a prerequisite that the presenting author register for inclusion in the scientific programme.
Authors who submit an abstract but fail to register by 31 August, 2020 will be removed from the programme.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR  APPLICANTS:

  1. Abstracts can only be submitted via the on-line submission system.
  2. The abstract body should be clear, concise, and written in English with correct spelling and good sentence structure. 
  3. Abstracts should be carefully compiled and thoroughly checked, in particular with regard to the list of authors, before submission in order to avoid last-minute changes.
  4. All abstracts submitted online will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and notification of acceptance will be sent by email.
  5. To correct/change an abstract after submission or to submit another abstract, please log-in with the username and password that you received when you initially submitted the abstract.

Before you begin, please prepare the following information:
• Abstract Topic – abstracts must be allocated to a specific Topic. Please see the list of topics here
• Presenting author’s contact details (kindly note that this should be the same details as the submitting author so that the presenting author receives the correspondence about the abstract)
• Email address
• Full postal address
• Daytime and evening phone number
• Author and co-authors’ details
• Full first and family name(s)
• Affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), country
• Abstract title – limited to 20 words in UPPER CASE
• Abstract text – limited to 250 words
• Abstract layout- All Abstracts must include the following sections:

Research Abstracts
• Objectives
• Methods
• Results
• Conclusions

•References are not obligatory, and the word count is affected by the inclusion of references.
• Tables, pictures and graphics are not allowed.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST & ETHICAL APPROVAL
Depending on the nature of the research, some abstract presenters may be required to obtain Ethical Clearance. Kindly note that you will be prompted to confirm that you received ethical clearance (if applicable) and to declare any conflict of interests in your presentation (if applicable) before completing the submission process.
